I was really late on the train but since over a year or so I'm a podcast addict. Now, I've grown more and more frustrated with Apple's own podcast app, so I was so happy to discover Breaker in the (INSPIRING) newsletter of Offscreen Dispatch. Breaker not only looks fantastic, but also comes with great sharing, rating and following features. I'm also glad to still be able to speed up the podcasts on 1,5x. Double thumbs up!
(P.S. I'm thinking of sharing my favorite podcasts here - until then: follow me on Breaker ;))
The soundtrack for today's winter weekend is powered by St. Vincent and her beautifully raw Tiny Desk Concert at NPR.
I felt so inspired and touched by this beautiful and hilarious speech by Tracee Ellis Ross about living your own frigging life. Watch it and set your intentions for 2018!
Jack Johnson published the video to his new song You Can't Control It. A smooth-relaxing and dreamy song, but the video comes with a spicy message regarding the plastics in our oceans:
“We found a clean section of the beach as the tide was pulling out. It was easy to find all the material you see in the video since so much of the plastic from the North Pacific Gyre accumulates on the windward side of the Hawaiian islands. It’s basically a time-lapse of the cover image of my new album.” (EW)
Now if every handsome man would deliver such a message with his art....
I keep stumbling upon this article from 2012, where John Maeda wrote down his rules of leadership formed in 1999 (in digital years basically a lifetime ago). It's a jungle of leadership advice out there, that is why I love this simplicity. For me, that says is all and is still as relevant today.
